Great stuff! Three points, a clean sheet, and the game won by halftime. Hoping the first half football was as good as it sounded! These are the sort of games we really must win, and to win them so emphatically is a helluva boost. WH Flag scarf WH Flag scarf WH Flag

    you finguck tell him sam

"Sam Allardyce hit back at Fulham manager Martin Jol’s claim that West Ham relied on route-one tactics in their 3-0 victory against the Whites.

New signing Andy Carroll caused the visitors major problems in the air during a one-sided first half at Upton Park, leading Jol to suggest Allardyce’s side were mainly intent on hitting long balls to the England striker.

But the Hammers boss countered: “If Martin can’t defend properly with his team then he really shouldn’t criticise our goals.

“You could say the three goals we scored was a ball up to Andy Carroll flicked on and two set-pieces.

“But how did Liverpool draw against Manchester City? One was a corner and one was a set-piece.

“In between our long-ball three goals we outplayed Fulham. It’s that simple.”

excellent game today - just got done watching it.

Carroll was exactly what we needed.

Shame to hear Jarvis was injured... but looking at today's performance and realizing we have Jarvis, Miaga and Yossi to step in... things must be looking pretty positive.

No bad points at all today... we bossed the game, played well, scored a bunch of goals and kept a clean sheet.

Can't ask for any more than that.

    Thanks Hammers

Oh yes....We just purred our way through this match today. Early goal, nice touches and pin point passing. Two more goals. Controlling the second half, keeping possession for much of it, and, would you believe, playing the ball along the floor. Twisted Evil Topped off with a little showboating from the naughty Vaz Tey. egypt

Andy Carroll slotted in like the last piece of the jigsaw, with Jarvis and Yossie still to come, giving the whole place, the players and fans a much needed lift.

Nolan and Noble my men of the match, give the latter his new contract please - and quick!

Saw the first half before I had to take off, only one thing concerns me: Carroll's aggressiveness. Oh, I love it, I just hope he knows just where the line is when it comes to bookings. Haven't watched a lot of Poo games over the years, so this is my first glimpse.

Thoroughly enjoyed that today. The game was effectively won by half time. Fulham just could not deal with us in the final third

My MoM was Diame closely followed by Nolan. Carroll made a difference too. Just hope his injury is not too serious

Call me an old cynic, but given that BFS is a crafty old bastard, I wonder if Carroll's "tight hamstring" after the game was won might just be enough to rule him out of the England squad and ensure that we don't get another Ashton situation. Just wondering... Rolling Eyes

Hmmm, just looked in the Liverpoo thread and realised I am not alone in my cynicism Smile

I think you're not alone in being thankful he doesn't go away with England... but in terms of it being a 'con' - think you're off the mark there... Carroll was in pain the minute he left the ground and was calling for the physio as soon as he'd hit the ground.

collins proved last month that you can easily pull out of international games without really being injured... but this certainly didn't seem to be one of those cases.
we'll be lucky if he's back for the Norwich game... but at least he limped off.. so it's not a major injury (hopefully)

these internationals aren't freindlies either they are proper qualifiers so there's no way Carrol would want to miss them, its one of the reasons he signed for us, get regular games so he can keep his england place.
we were superb today, no bad performances except for some of vaz te's acting which was embarrassing at times but that is my only gripe for today as we were superb in all areas of the game, my m.o.m was noble but couldnt argue with nolan, diame or even carrol being given it. oh btw HOOFBALL MY ARSE large parts of our game today were a joy to behold.
