Winston Reid has insisted that he has never considered leaving West Ham United as talks begin over a contract extension for the defender.

Reid has turned in a number of impressive performances to help the Hammers establish themselves in mid-table in their first season back in the Premier League.

A number of clubs are understood to be tracking the New Zealand international, leading to speculation that he could move on from Upton Park.

However, the 24-year-old has made it clear that he has no plans to go anywhere and is hoping to sign a new deal with West Ham.

"We are talking," he said in the Daily Star. "There's an option in there for both parties to take another two years at the end of the season.

"I've always wanted to stay here. I enjoy being here."

He should sign it on the beaches, he should sign it on the landing grounds, he should sign in the fields and in the streets, he should sign in the hills.......

What d'ya mean it's the wrong Winston???

I like him - a year out of the limelight & the PL probably done him a world of good.
