About as much action on this thread as there is at the game by the sound of it ... Very quiet.

Re: Southampton v West Ham United
We need to stop giving away stupid free kicks and Nolan and Carrol should be concentrating on making and scoring goals instead of bitching at the ref........COYI!

I was helping someone move house, didn't even get to see the highlights although it sounds like there weren't many. Never mind, a points a point - nearly safe!

Fortunately - and correctly - it is a black & white decision. It either IS or ISN'T completely over the line, so "bloody close" means it WASN'T !! Great save Jussi !
Phew !

Re: Southampton v West Ham United
Decent result yesterday. Looked comfortable against a side who have beaten Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool at home recently. The fans really showed their appreciation to Andy Carroll, singing his name for the majority of the last 20 minutes. Positive comments from him regarding a potential stay at the club today too. I have a funny feeling that Allardyce's main haggling over his contract comes down to our commitment to ensuring we secure Big Andy's permanent signature, while also ensuring funds will be available to strengthen elsewhere. Big test of our ambition coming up. I'd be tempted to get the deal done and dusted between mathematical confirmation of our Premier League status and the end of the season, so we can hit the ground running with other pre-season recruits immediately upon this season's end.
Oh yeah... I got thoroughly soaked too yesterday... and Southampton is no walk in the park to get away from traffic-wise either!

Re: Southampton v West Ham United
I hope your right there Dan. I think keeping Carroll a must, he'd be just about the most ambitious signing we have ever made if it happens. 4 home games now until the end of the season, dare we dream of a top half finish? Each place in the premier league is worth something like 2.5 million, so finishing 9th say rather then 12th means an extra 7.5? As Dan pointed out keeping Carroll would be a great start to our summer spending, but the squad is small in numbers in other areas too.
