All started from the overspending from the Twitcher and Peter Storrie?

Re: Pompey relegated...again
As much as i'd like to blame the twitcher, I never blame the managers,I doubt they have any real idea/ control over budget or the financial side of the game, ad being as they are sacked left right and centre for such minor runs of form these days, who can blame them for constantly wanting to make signings that might improve the squad and allow them to keep their job for another 6 months. I never saw it as O Learys fault what happened to Lids, that was all Ridsdale. IMHO
I think wolves could sink very low too if they aren't careful.
When you look at clubs like Wolves, Charlton (double relegation) Blackburn, it does actually highlight what a fantastic job Sam did gettin us back up.

Chris Powell doing a good job at Charlton, getting them to the fringes of the play-offs. Along with Malkay Mackay, who has been a top Champs manager for a few seasons & has got Cardiff promoted.
Both with Hammers connections & could be worth keeping an eye on.

I couldn't root for Cardiff if Sir Bobby Moore himself was managing them JK!

Re: Pompey relegated...again
I meant keep an eye on Malkay as a potential WHU manager, Alfie! He's done as much as PdC in a much quieter manner. Although he was clearly not PL quality as a player when he was at WHU he showed leadership quality & I think that has shown in his managerial positions.
I'm not suggesting for one moment you should support the sheep molesters, A! Even me, with my Welsh connections couldn't follow them. I'd be Newport!

Luton were third in the championship when it starting going tits up for them over what were apparently minor infringements. They had three relegations in three years and have not managed to get out of the conference since they went there. Still get good crowds even today.

Fair dos JK. I thought you'd taken leave of your senses then! Yeah agree with what you said about malky...I remembered him as very slow and immobile but a decent defender when it came to leading the line, getting ya head in there and winning the ball. And he's done a decent job with the sheep shaggers, sadly.

Re: Pompey relegated...again
I've always felt sorry for Malkay not just because of the West Ham/Norwich connection, whenever he has done something good with a team and got them into the premiership they always seem to get rid of him, even as a player.......A bit like Henri Lansbury......I hate Cardiff but I would like to see Malkay prove that he is worthy of being in the top flight!

I would. He had one or two good games for us last season. I was expecting SO much more. The Championship is perhaps his level methinks
