Re: West Ham United FC v Cardiff
I see Cardiff have signed a Chilean midfield thug called Medel from Sevilla where his nickname was "Pitbull", been sent off three times in 31 appearances last season. Presumably he will play if he gets his papers through in time, could be fun....

Re: West Ham United FC v Cardiff
I would like to think we can get the 3pts and a clean sheet and few goals as well against Cardiff Saturday but I hate to say it but I can just see a repeat of the Championship Opener against them a couple of seasons ago when they nicked a last minute winner happening again tomorrow
If I was BFS I would go with : 4-5-1/4-3-3
Jaaskelainen
Demel
Reid
Tomkins*
Rat
J.Cole
Noble
Diame
Nolan
Jarvis
Maiga
SUBS
Adrian
Taylor
Vaz Te
Downing
Lletget
E.Lee
Collison
*If Collins can play then start Collins ahead of Tomkins !
With that sort of line up I think we should be able to beat Cardiff 3-0 maybe 4-0 IMO

I don't -with ANY line-up from this squad. Cardiff will be well organised and without Carroll I think we are relying on Nolan to score our goals. I predict a narrow 1-0 win or even a draw

Re: West Ham United FC v Cardiff
I'd go with:
Jaaskelainen
Demel, Collins, Reid, Rat
Diame, Nolan, Noble
Cole, Maiga, Jarvis
Subs: Adrian, O'Brien, Tomkins, Taylor, Morrison, Downing, Vaz Te.
Cardiff will not be easy to beat - let's not forget that their players, management and supporters will not have forgotten the ease with which we beat them 5-0 on aggregate in the play-off semi-finals just over a year ago, and all will be out for revenge. I'll go for an entertaining 3-3 draw.

I just hope that we are in a position to let Morrison run around for 20 minutes or so. I've a feeling he might just be what we need

Re: West Ham United FC v Cardiff
First day of the season, brilliant!! Fellow Hammers, I invite you to join me in a few more hours of enthusiastic optimism. Remember, until we kick off at 3pm anything is possible for this season - cups, qualification for Europe, even Premier League champions. Our players could all prove to be massively under-rated and play out of their skins, our squad could be the best balanced in the PL, Sam could demonstrate his latent managerial genius - for a few hours more it's all possible!
Could all be a different story by full-time - or even half-time, come to that - but a good, classy stuffing of the sheep-shaggers and we can dream for a bit longer!
COME ON YOU IRONS!!! THIS COULD BE OUR YEAR!!!

Re: West Ham United FC v Cardiff
Still going to stay with my previous prediction that we will hammer Cardiff today .... Looks like James Collins is going to start as BFS said the injuries we have are Andy Carroll and George McCartney so looks the our best partnership of Collins and Reid will start today
Think Nolan will get on the score sheet as will Maiga and J.Cole today

West Ham United FC @whufc_official 25s
West Ham United starting XI:
Jaaskelainen, Demel, O'Brien, Collins, Reid, Noble, Diame, Nolan, Jarvis, Cole, Maig
West Ham United subs: Adrian, Tomkins, Rat, Diarra, Morrison, Downing, Vaz Te
surprised that Rat is on the bench
