    I had to take my old girl down the vets today to get the dreaded
    had bloody good fun with old Jess though, I even cooked her her own steak last night as we knew she was going in today

    I'm really really sorry Campo, know how you feel, I've picked quite a few dogs and cats over the past twenty years or so, some at the tail end of their lives too ... think of the good moments

    So sad, Campo. I know exactly how you feel. I had to say goodbye to my Beagle, Odin last summer. It is like losing your best friend.

    Sorry to hear that Campo, couldn't bear to be there when my two dogs had to go, wife had to do it. Swore I would never have another one, so I don't know what this bloody collie is doing lying at my feet!

    said goodbye to our molly dog last year, spent her whole life with severe epilepsy dosed up, but wow did she love a walk and climbed every mountain in the lake district time and again.

    I had Jess head on my lap while she passed, and she did in such a peaceful way that it made it easier
    some can convulse and gasp but Jess just dozzed off
    Have to say our Vet Julia was bloody brilliant with both Jess and a sobbing Campo

    Sad news dude , got choked up a couple of weeks ago when we thought our moggy was on its last knockings , def used up one of its lives

    really feel for for up mate, this thread has really choked u up. Will u be having a break from pets or gettin a new puppy soon?

    I will be having a break from pets for a few years now at least
    unless say another good collie comes along that is need of a home otherwise I shall not be looking

    Ah mate, I'm so sorry. My thoughts are with you all.  We love them dearly and it is such a wrench at your heart to have to let them go. 

    She was lucky to have found you, to live a good life, filled with love from you and your family and to share steak with her master.
