Neither Sam Allardyce nor Roberto Martínez will have enjoyed the recent internationals as both sides have considerable injury concerns. Allardyce’s biggest headache is that his star striker, Diafra Sakho, and partner Enner Valencia may both miss out. If they do then Everton’s defence will breathe a sigh of relief as the pair have been instrumental in West Ham’s excellent form this season.

So we play Nolan, Amalfitano, Carrol and Zarate if Downing, Sakho, Song and Valencia don't make it.  Give Carlton a go last 20 minutes if needed.  Sorted ...... COYI  Everton V West Ham United 1343512671 Everton V West Ham United 1343512671 Everton V West Ham United 1343512671

West Ham United Adrian, Reid, Cresswell, Nolan (c), Tomkins, Carroll, Noble, Jenkinson, Collins, Amalfitano, Cole
Subs: Jaaskelainen, Jarvis, Zarate, Vaz Te, O'Brien, Demel, Lletget

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka (c), Lukaku, Mirallas, Naismith, Distin, McCarthy, Barkley, Osman, Coleman
Subs: Robles, Eto'o, Besic, Atsu, Browning, Garbutt, Ledson

Decimated team. With those 5 players missing we have gone from a side with pace and energy always looking likely to score back down to last season's lumbering slowness with no goals in it

Positive thinking please lads, they've got injuries too and are the draw specialists.  A point would be good, but I'm going for all 3   COYI

scrappy goal to concede. Shit defending with most of our back four getting drawn towards the ball leaving Lukaku on his own, he looked offside when the first shot was struck, some will argue it was deflected but he still looked in an offside position when it was struck, he was left alone in the initial build up and then again for the rebound.

Apart from a couple of dodgy looking fouls by them did anything else happen in that half ?

Did Nolan touch the ball ?

All I can get is a radio comm, sounds like we deserve to be trailing although still in with a shout unless we concede another.Looks like BFS is playing the best formation he can think of with what he's got left, but Jenkinson is the only one supplying anything to Carroll, and that's just because Hibbert ain't good enough to stop him. Dunno what else we can do with that bench -RVT on for Cole. maybe? Is that really an improvement? A point from this would be quite an achievment and I'm not optimistic.

shitty game in the first half...

I know we have a few injury worries... but I will never understand how we can develop a winning formula and then just completely ignore what makes us successful...

    Carroll, Nolan and Cole?

What is this... throwback thursday and no one told me? We don't win games playing Cole from the start and we don't win games when we play the kid of tactics that have a front line involving Carlton fupping Cole...

You remember those glorious days of a few weeks ago when I was writing about us having 5 players in the box looking for goals and waiting for the ball to be crossed in...

    Today...

we had two people... Carroll and Cole.... there was a beautiful ball played in from the left... you know who e had in the box waiting for it? Cole... on his own...
The result? What do you think? A goal kick... Cole still has the touch of a rapist... Carroll is way of match pace and our tactics are just set up to get nothing out of this game at all.

Everton ain't looking all that good but we're allowing them to play, giving them space... playing the ball straight back to them when we do get possession...

Someone needs to sort this shit out before the score as it stands becomes a result...

actually thinking about it... perhaps this is a smart decision tactic-wise...

we're going to be losing our best players in Jnuary for the African Cup of Nations and we lose the other decent ones like our loan players Song, etc at the end of the season...

so we're trying to get us and the team back in the mindset of a bottom half of the table relegation battle...

might as well start with the performances to justify where we'll end up...

that's exactly what we needed... Carroll nods the ball down to Cole's feet... lightning fast he swivels on a sixpence and slams the ball into the back of the net...

    oh wait...

No... Zarate dribbles in from midfield... shoots and the deflection puts way out of howard's reach... kinda makes up for the site defection that gave Everton their goal...

you didn't really think Cole would be our savior did you?
