Or just maybe at 33/34 his legs have just gone? How many of these Youtube compilations do we see of "stars". Nene has had a very illustrious career but he was playing in Arab-land before coming to us; a league that makes the Vanarama Conference look like La Liga.

My uncle just run the marathon at a very good pace at the age of 50. I've never quite understood why a player should be past it at 32 ish (my age)

Really? As a person who is involved with physical training? You don't believe a professional athlete will eventually succumb to not being what they were, especially if they've spent a period at a completely different level than they had previously?

Eventually, yes, but I can't see how people's legs should go in the low 30s.
