    TEAM NEWS

West Ham's Abdoulaye Faye is hoping to shake off a tight hamstring with James Tomkins standing by to replace him.

Goalkeeper Robert Green has returned after knee surgery so Manuel Almunia has gone back to Arsenal following the end of his month-long loan.

Bristol City could be unchanged from the side which won 2-1 at Barnsley on Saturday.

The Robins do have two long-term injury absentees, however, in Louis Carey (knee) and Jamie McAllister (ankle).

    MATCH FACTS
    Head-to-head

    • West Ham have won 16, drawn eight and lost four of 28 league and cup matches against Bristol City.

    • They have not gone head-to-head since the 1992/93 second level league campaign, when West Ham did the double with a 7-1 aggregate score and went on to gain promotion.

    • The Hammers are looking for a fourth successive victory over Bristol City, and are unbeaten in eight league and cup games against them (W5, D3), since a 2-1 top-flight reverse at Upton Park in February 1978.

    West Ham United

•West Ham, one place and three points off the pace, are looking for a ninth win of this league season, and a third in a row.

    • Their return of 27 points in 14 games is their best start to a league season in 21 years.

    • Their 26 league goals have been shared between 13 different players - the longest goalscorers' list in the Championship.

    Bristol City

    • Bristol City gained their first win under Derek McInnes, with Saturday's 2-1 away triumph over Barnsley. It followed five straight losses and a 10-match winless run in the league.

    • The rock-bottom Robins are averaging a point a game away from home, but maximum points here will provide their 200th victory in a second tier game on the road.

    • With only five players, Bristol City own the shortest goalscorers list in the Championship.

Mmmm. This is just the sort of game that we are likely to fupp up through complacency

Let's hope that BFS sends them out with their heads "right"; expecting a tough game. If he does then we should do the business

BFS's team selection tonight will be very interesting. I'm convinced he's starting to go native, some of his selections have a distinct air of classic West Ham " let's just hope we'll score one more than they do". That'll be fine when we are top with a five point margin, for now I would like him to revert to type and concentrate first of all on not conceding. I know they're bottom, but we should treat them with great respect until they start to flag, and then turn the screw. This will be much harder than most people think IMO. Fingers crossed.

I agree with SOI, dangerous beast when wounded, Brisol won away on saturday and need this even more than we do. Treat them with respect, then hammer the fcuk out of them in the last 30 mins, we need a hatful of goals tonight, Baldock and Carewcarew together would be a good starting point. Nolan needs to up his game, not performing as well as the hype said he would, needs to to show UP he can do the business, as he cost us two goals on Saturday.

    West Ham Utd : Green,O`Brien,Reid,Tomkins,McCartney,Faubert,Noble,Nolan,Sears,Piquionne,Baldock
    SUBS:Kurucz,Faye,Diop,Hall,Cole

    Bristol City : James,Skuse,Fontaine,Nyatanga,McGivern,Cisse,Elliott,Kilkenny,Woolford,Adomah,Maynard
    SUBS:Gerken,Wilson,Bolasie,Clarkson,Pitman

Well , I would rather of Hall or Cole start ahead of Piquionne But hey lets hope that Piquionne does a better then what he has done so far this season Smile The only threat from them is Maynard if we can keep him quiet then we will be alright.
