First Player out the door is ........

Kouyate. I can`t believe we`ve let Kouyate go to Palace and not just that but on the cheap as well. I can think of worst players to get rid of first in our squad Hugill and Snodgrass to name two. I just hope that we replace Kouayte with suitable replacement especially if reports are true that Obiang is leaving as well although something telling me that now Kouyate gone Obiang wont be aloud to leave.

I really believe letting Kouyate go will be a mistake , I know last season he was very poor for his standards but when he`s up for it he`s a very good player to have in the squad.

We only paid £6M for him so anything over that is a profit. 

It was evident that Kouyate and Obiang couldn't play in the same team so one of them really had to move on. MP obviously thought that Obiang was a better proposition in the long term, a decision I agree with.

I know we`ve made a profit on him but in this day and age we should of held out for at least £15m or more considering he is a proven Premier league player. Something I`ve notice is we don`t fight for getting decent fee`s for our players like other clubs do.

How do you know that Arran? Are you part of the negotiating team?

Look, at the end of the day, Pellegrini didn't fancy him, Palace did, a fee, (that will be reinvested in the first team), was agreed with add ons which will probably take it to nearer £15M. 

Personally, I like the fact that our business, both in and out, has been conducted out of the glare of the media. 

Oh, btw, Reece Burke was the first one out the door, £1.7M to Hull.

I know we`ve made a Profit as we only brought Kouyate for about £7m back in 2014 under Allardyce.

To be honest I forgot about Burke and I ment first team squad , I don`t count Burke as part of the senior squad like the likes of Oxford , Rice etc.

He aint been the player he was either Arran.  We have to let some go and him over Obiang was a no brainer.

I've got to agree with Jiggs, two years ago he was blinding, unfortunately no longer. £9.5m or £11m is good money taking into account age, injuries and form. CP also had the advantage of knowing that he was not going to be amain player for MP. 
Hope Obiang stays, but I can see us buying another defensive MF or using Declan Rice more in that role.

The fact that Kouyate said he "needed a new challenge" tells me that his heart was no longer with us. It was apparent last season that he didn't appear to give a shit. Strolling around looking disinterested

I would imagine that he had dialogue with Pellegrini and they decided between them that it was in everyone's best interests if he moved on

I loved Kouyate. What a fun and charismatic guy. I was particularly fond of his rendition of We've Got Payet  It was time for him to go, though. I wish him all the best.
