Post  Geezer Wed 16 Nov 2011, 3:33 pm

Fulham and England striker Bobby Zamora is set for a shock exit from Craven Cottage, with Crystal Palace and former clubs West Ham and Brighton & Hove Albion showing an interest.

According to reports on Goal.com, Zamora and Fulham boss Martin Jol's relationship is deteriorating.

The pair are believed to have had a number of disagreements over Jol's decision to rest the England international for Fulham's Europa League games.

“Jol has a poor relationship with Zamora and it is no secret that they do not see eye to eye,” a source said.

“Fulham could be willing to listen to offers for him but it depends on what happens with the other forwards and where they are in the table in January.

“If Fulham are struggling with around 16 points, they are more likely to trust in the players who have helped keep them up quite comfortably in the last three seasons.

"If they have around 22-26 points, there could be some high-profile changes and you will see a gradual break-up of what is an ageing squad.”

West Ham seem to be leading the chase for Zamora, as the player wants to stay in London and the surrounding area, however fellow promotion chasers Crystal Palce and Brighton are also keeping tabs on the 30-year-old's situation.

Zamora has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal with Fulham and the club value him at £5million.

Having mulled this over for a day or so, I'm inclined to say, no thanks.

We need a goal scorer, someone to put the ball in the back of the net, not rows x, y and z.

Zamora needs an inordinate amount of chances to actually score a goal. I'd like to see stats for his shots to goals ratio.

We have better coming through the stiffs, so no thanks.

His current form (Fulham, since 2008), equates to a goal every 4.5 games.

Is that the ratio of a prolific goal scorer?? No

If true, why do we think a manager, who lets not forget was wanted by a section of WHU fans, like Martin Jol wants to off load him??

Peeps - it ain't gonna happen is it? He is a full England international, who wants to go to the Euros. How on earth would dropping down to the Championship help his cause? Add to that the reported £10m transfer fee and I think we all need to get real here

Move along. Nothing to see here

I can't see Bobby Z coming back either.......After earlier reports that
Martin Jol didn't like him, it would appear they are now loved up, and
    enjoying cuddles in public...

If I was BZ and West Ham came sniffing , I would tell them to take a running jump. He never gave anything less than his best for us, and got turfed out as "not good enough". Every goal he has scored in the PL since then has been a slap in the face to us, and IMO we've deserved it. A willing, genuine and gifted player and 100% WHU, but our coaching could not get the best from him so other people did. :x

Every goal Demba Ba scores also is a slap in the face. That is quite a few slaps.. Damnit we had a terrific goal scorer who probably would have stayed with us, if we could have stayed up.. When will we see a quality player like him again playing for us ?
