West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green is set to join QPR after agreeing a £50,000-a-week deal, The Daily Mail report.

The England international, 32, will soon be a free agent after West Ham refused to meet his pay demands.

It is claimed that Rangers opted for Green after briefly considering Tottenham keeper Heurelho Gomes.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Brendan Rodgers is trying to persuade Salomon Kalou to snub Schalke and sign for Liverpool now he’s left Chelsea.

Rodgers, who recently took over as manager at Anfield, knows Kalou well from his time on the Blues’ coaching staff.

West Ham are set to raise their offer for Norwich City striker Grant Holt. Sam Allardyce had a £3.5million bid rejected but will now offer £4m for the 31-year-old.

Allardyce is also keen on a defender, with Dijon’s former France Under 21 centre back Samuel Souprayen, 23, Charlton’s Chris Solly and Newcastle’s Danny Simpson among his targets.

My Charlton mate is devastated at the news that Chris Solly may be leaving them for us. He’s a good young prospect but can he make the jump from league 1 to the premiership? If we do buy him I’d loan him back to Charlton for the first few months of the season just to see how he does in the Championship before bringing him into the premiership.
