Most goals are scored in the last third of the pitch.. so best we play in the oppositions, dont matter how we get the ball there.. just get it there

I can understand why some would be critical of BFS following the Swansea result, if all you saw was the result. But I don’t think its plausible to blame BFS for a ‘keeper throwing the ball into his own net, then one of your centre backs having a brain fart and gifting the opposition a goal.

BFS did exactly what he was employed to do; get us promotion in to the premiership. Now he has to keep us there, by whatever means possible. This is how a club survives and then grows.

It is not possible to play tippy-tappy football by just clicking you fingers and wishing it. You don’t turn into Swansea overnight and anyone who thinks you do clearly knows little about the game.

I would suggest that any individual who isn’t prepared to put in the hard yards over the next couple of seasons goes away and does something else. Maybe they could come back once we are established in the premiership and a more ‘stylish’ approach has been employed. Although there is a team ready made for this ‘type’ of fan just across town in West London.

why do players like cole, nolan, noble, etc seem to get picked week in and week out regardless of their performances?

They get picked, I believe, because they can be relied on do exactly the job that the manager wants them to do. Sometimes they do it well, and it works, and everyone is happy. Sometimes they still do what they've been asked to do but it doesn't w**k because the manager has got the tactics wrong. Sometimes they can individually have a bad game - but they are still filling the role that the manager has given them, and that's more important than if they had a bad day.
A good manager can get results with an average squad of players, and that -IMO- is all that we currently have, so better to get off the players's backs and hope and pray that BFS is as good a manager as he thinks he is.

Hello HH66,good to see a new face - figuratively speaking - even if you don't agree with them. I might have misread this, but it seems that you have a particular hatred for the two elderly pornographers because they wouldn't take your advice ( as a maitre d'hotel) on who they should appoint as the club's new manager. Actually, I wouldn't take David Sullivan's advice on how to repair a hydraulic compactor, even if he was really, really interested in them.
Anyway, I couldn't say I was delighted when they took over, but I've come to realise that things could have been a helluva lot worse - we were a financial basket-case and could have gone the same way as Pompey.I still don't really trust them, I think they might be looking to recoup their investment by selling the Boleyn whatever happens, but I would rather have them than slimey moneygrabbing spivs like the Glazers. Gold in particular really seems to have an emotional attachment to the club. I think Bradey is a good management executive, hard as nails but that's how you have to be or people will walk right over you. And then there's BFS... like most , I didn't want him, but I've come to regard him as a necessary evil in our current situation. If we can't hang on in the PL we are comprehensively Donald Ducked, and the man knows how to hang on. It's painful to be compared with Stoke, but we're just going to have to live with it for a while.
I don't think you're going to get too many joining in for a " have a go at Gold/Sulivan/Bradey/ BFS" session, most of us got it out of our systems some time ago,but it's nice to see a bit of passion. Welcome aboard. scarf

    "Dont be Predictable any more"
" There is less width now in English football", "We used to see a lot more goals from wide areas",

MATCH STATS FROM OUR LAST THREE COMPETITIVE GAMES

    POSSESSION / FOULS
    Blackpool 56% / 6 Irons 44% / 8
    Villa 66% / 9 Irons 34% / 17
    Swansea 62% / 14 Irons 38% / 19

Ok, so the Fat Controller keeps us up with this physical, predictable, outdated and ugly type of football, as outlined by our owners and looks like being confirmed by the above stats. We loose another season playing our "antique take on the game while our competitors have continued to evolve and improve to the next level;EXACTLY WHAT SORT OF PLAYER IS GONNA WANT TO PLAY FOR US?, We are allready devoid of any real quality and struggling to attract quality as any right minded quality " EVOLUTIONARY BALL PLAYERS" are gonna avoid us and our prehistoric football like the plague and we end up havin to watch average journeymen playing UGLY FUCKIN ALLADYCE FOOTBALL for another season with another relegation battle.

I love Our West Ham as much as all of us and hopefully and as so eloquently pointed out by all of ya, am chattin complete and utterly unfounded, misguided and delusional bollicks,

the reason no one will sign for us is because we are newly promoted and will almost certainly be in a relegation dogfight as all newly promoted clubs are expected to have, wether they do or not, oh and btw we won 2 of those 3 games you mentioned Smile we stick with them statistics and we'll be in the top 6 at the end of the year Smile

Oh dear, resorted to pulling stats out of the ether have we.

Stats like that are meaningless totally meaningless. As Dave says, we won 2 of those 3 games. Did you actually watch any of them?

I would strongly suggest that rather than just being a passenger on the "Slag off Sam for his long ball game" bus, (which he doesn't actually play), that you actually take the time and trouble to watch half a dozen or so games in succession and judge for yourself.

Mind you, there's probably no point as you seem to have your mind set that all we do is hoof the ball the length of the pitch.

Never mind, you carry on with your blinkered, stubborn views about the game we watch every week.

This long ball hoof tag is a bit of a myth too, a hangover over from those Wimbledon days.

If say David de Gea kicks the ball up field to Giggs who sends the ball into the box for RVP to score, SSN and MOTD are wetting themselves with excitement. Replace the ManPoo players for West Ham ones and its ugly hoof ball football.

A goal is a goal, isn’t the aim of the game to put more in their net than they can put in ours.

It’s a pity that some fans swallowed the BFS tag, never gave him the chance.

I wonder if Swansea players woke up one morning and started playing beautiful football yet still winning games or was it a steady progression over time.

a typical and predictable reply from some one who believes because they have a season ticket and watch all the games that that one else can offer any sort of opinion unless they also watch every game and probably every reserve game, every, youth team game etc etc (Now Id pay to watch the Hammeretts but not Fat Sams first 11) and are the font of everything West Ham therefore no one else is deemed worthy enough to comment unless they reach your attendance levels.
All im trying to say is.....

ok, I know we have to consolidate and of course I want the team not getting beaten and winning and if F.S.F keeps us up this season job done, but without us being enslaved to a U.A.E. Sugar Daddy and leaving home I dont see any future in playing F.S.F and us being irreconcilably left behind.
    F.S.F. = Fat Sam Football

    P.S.
I was at Wembley for the play off final, didnt watch the Villa game and watched the full Swansea game on the box.

Neither Blakey nor Sir Ian are season ticket holders.

Neither of them said that your opinion was wrong because you are not a season ticket holder.

Neither of them said you are required to reach a certain number of games prior to giving an opinion.

However, it is difficult to take your comments on board about how ugly the football is when you don’t go and watch it consistently.

Neither of them said that your opinion was wrong because you are not a season ticket holder.

Neither of them said you are required to reach a certain number of games prior to giving an opinion.
