Re: West Ham United FC V Hull
a wednesday night game under the lights at Upton Park - oh the memories.
we really need to kick this losing habit.
Four wins on the spin means nothing if you follow it up with four losses.
We could go all the way up to 11th if we win... please win boys.

Re: West Ham United FC V Hull
It's Tomo and Collins in the heart of the defense. Is Reid really not worth a start? I thought Tomo was pretty piss poor last time out . and apparently managed to overcome a 'knock' to be ready for tonight's game...

Re: West Ham United FC V Hull
corner to us after a shot form Jarvis is put wide by the keeper
we've given it away a bit and been very lucky to have Hull whistled back for 'arms' after they completely beat us with a long goal kick.
cleared almost off the line by Hull
another corner to us
Collins comes in for it but misses... ball cleared but we're still piling on the pressure
but Collins is down with a knock... looks like he's coming off...
yup... substitution
Collins -off
Johnson - on
Still no Reid????

Re: West Ham United FC V Hull
been pretty even steven...
Diame down in the area... had the ball on the way to an open goal but a defender got there to hoof it clear...
Confusion everywhere...
treatment for Diame...
is it a penalty? is it a free kick? is it much ado about nothing?
21 minutes gone... who knows where this is heading?
BTW... the 'keeper is injured too...
it was Noble running through on goal... the ball ricocheted off a defender... hits Diame on the arm... Diame is brought down by the keeper... both stay down... and it's now a red card for the Hull keeper...
Jeez... what a palava...

What a crap record to hold...how many times has it been then?
1-0 I'd settle for, where's that final whistle?

Why is Tomkins such a wimp, he just ran for a ball in the air with real purpose then didnt even bother jumping for it.

A free kick on the left dying for a right footer to swing it in towards goal and Downing takes it ???

Re: West Ham United FC V Hull
well it ended up with 6 minutes of injury time...
not really a lot else to report at half time... to be honest Hull kinda took the game to us and we played a lot worse against ten men than against their full team.
Still... most important thing is that we ended the half still in the lead and over in Merseyside, Gerrard slipped in a great free kick to put the 'Pool ahead.
Let's stick a couple more goals past Hull and hope the Reds hold on and it will be job well done tonight.
Still a bit squeaky bum time TBH.

Re: West Ham United FC V Hull
There ya go...
plenty of Hull pressure
Free kick to Hull
and the ball deflects of a running Hull player to send it the opposite way to Adrian...
fupp me... 1-1

Re: West Ham United FC V Hull
well maybe the footballing gods are on our side after all...
lacklustre West Ham attack... cross not looking particularly dangerous and then a Hull defender goes for it and in putting his foot up just deflects the ball past his keeper and into the back of the net.
2-1
Liverpool leading 2-0 so we should end the night comfortably clear of Blunderland and the relegation scrap and somehow in the lofty position of 11th in the table

Re: West Ham United FC V Hull
This is how Phil Brown of the BBC saw it - and he's not wrong...
Phil Brown, BBC 5 live pundit, Upton Park
West Ham 2-1 Hull
"That's amazing, it's an own goal from nothing I'm looking at Demel there who has taken no notice of Kevin Nolan and just whipped it in. It's very poor defensively but is so lucky for West Ham - they don't deserve to be ahead."
