Re: Wellington Phoenix-West Ham
As a pre season game with some new players and youth in the team I thought our passing was better, we were using the wings more rather than just lumping it up to Carlton Cole to control it to nobody....Our defence was the only low point and the fact that we still couldn't hit a barn door! But we had possession, we passed it around better than I have seen us pass it in a while and did actually create quite a few chances but were too slow on the edge of the box with 5 or 6 opposition players closing down our ball carrier.
Some people might call it a piss poor performance, but I don't....The game against Forest was a piss poor performance, the game against Stevenage was a piss poor performance, the games against Man City were piss poor performances.......Yesterday we lost 2-1 in pre season, getting to learn a new system.....Hardly cause to start slating the team!
We all know that pre season friendlies are for match fitness and trials........They have no reflection on how well the season will go.....
