Andorra venue and ticket allocation confirmed

West Ham United travel to Andorra on Thursday 9 July
West Ham United have been allocated approximately 450 tickets for the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round second leg tie in Andorra.

The Hammers will tackle Primera Divisio runners-up FC Lusitans at the 1,300-capacity Estadia Comunal d’Andorra La Vella at 7.30pm local time (6.30pm UK time) on Thursday 9 July.

The 450 unreserved seats are priced at €45 (£32) per person, with no concessions, and are expected to sell out to Season Ticket Holders with a high number of Priority Points.

A no duplicate policy will be in operation, so all tickets will need to be sent via Special Delivery, which means a £6.95 postal fee will be added to all transactions.

Fans applying for tickets will also be required to provide their mode and route of travel to Andorra. The Club will not be running an official trip to this fixture.

Further information, including local transport advice and information about activities for fans to enjoy in Andorra applicable to those travelling to the game, will be provided.

Sale dates for West Ham’s first competitive European tie in nine years are as follows:

• Season Ticket Holder Priority Postal Deadline: 5pm Wednesday 1 July (for processing by 1pm Friday 3 July)
  
• Bondholders: 9am Thursday 2 July
  

Due to demand, the Club does not expect this fixture to reach Academy Members or General Sale.

*Supporters should also note that, should the Hammers go through and Maltese clubs FC Birkirkara and Valetta both emerge victorious from their own UEFA Europa League first qualifying round ties, West Ham’s visit to the Mediterranean island would be reversed.

Should Birkirkara overcome Ulisses FC of Armenia and Valetta defeat Newtown of Wales, West Ham will travel to Malta for the first leg on Thursday 16 July, with the return game at the Boleyn Ground on Thursday 23 July.

If Birkirkara win, but Valetta lose, the fixture will remain as per the original draw, with the first leg in east London and the second leg taking place in Malta.

Wales played Andorra on that (artificial) pitch and Gareth Bale said it's the worst pitch he's ever played on. I can see ankle/knee problems with our glass-like squad. Can't imagine us letting AC/Reid/Tomkins/Collins anywhere near it. They can injure themselves without playing on a crap pitch !!

Well since they've switched the order of the ties and we play at home first... we should ideally stuff them 7, 8 or 9-0 so we can rest everyone for the return leg and not worry about injuring any first team players on a sub-standard surface.

Having said that, aren't astro turf pitches banned by UEFA or is it just FIFA and the Premier League?

Very true. We usually manage to crock enough people pre-season playing on grass.

And anyone that has watched anything of the Womens World cup would note that Asto-turf should be banned full stop

Fortunately the game will be streamed live on WHUTV... so that's good.

TBH, knowing nothing as I do about football, this is the line-up I would probably have played in the 2nd leg once the tie had been won at the Boleyn.

We'll be playing our youngest ever player - so kudos to Oxford for that.

I just hope this works... kinda unthinkable if it doesn't.

But whatever the result, it ain't gonna be for a lack of support from the stands... 35,000 sell-out.

I'm getting quite positive about this Europa lark.In effect it's replacing pre-season friendlies with matches where the result actually matters, which is good for all concerned. Fans get back to football weeks earlier than everyone else, and the home  sell-out is a real positive for the players and the owners. No big deal when we eventually go out, so opportunities for youngsters and back-up squad players to be tested. Bit of foreign travel for the faithful if they like. I think overall it's a positive as long as we don't take it too seriously - and nobody gets injured
For me the whole thing was fupped up once they allowed the European Cup failures in halfway through - showed it up as just a cash cow for UEFA rather than an adventure for " mid-table" clubs.
Anyway, off we go!!

Semi.  that is where a problem may arise, the club have still booked a full pre-season schedule, I can see a lot of the younger members getting a lot of game time between now and the start of the season
