Re: Peterborough v West Ham United FC
Oppo,s after the game
"Sadly, class told in the end. Posh should have had a couple of goals in the first half but as soon as the Hammers stopped lumping long balls to Cole and raided down the flanks with Faubert in particular being effective it was a different game. Mark Noble ran the midfield with class and Posh couldn't get back into the game. We looked jaded by the final whistle. Hammers' celebrations were provocative with Vaz Te scoring for the second time this season at London Road and overdoing it."
- Poshay
"Posh were strongest in the first half, we should have had a penalty when Frecklington was chopped down just inside the area just before George Boyd smacked a shot against a defender's head. After the break, West Ham could have scored more if they hadn't timewasted for the last 20 minutes and become the dullest team I've seen at London Road this year. And I've seen Doncaster Rovers. Nolan was arrogant too, deserving of the stick he got from the London Road End."
- DaveLister
"We competed pretty well first half and the game was even on the whole. Once they scored we lost it totally, looked overawed and stopped being a team. Allcock maybe man of the Match. A poor showing and we showed far too much respect. Not worried, but am a little concerned."
- Brianposh
"Beaten by a better team, we can only hope that three better teams beat West Ham to the promotion places. And I thought Leeds fans were arrogant!"
- westmead_lord
"Peterborough United were handed a lesson in how to play football as West Ham won 2-0 to put their promotion push back on track. Posh were beaten soundly in the end by a better team who are challenging for promotion - and there’s absolutely no shame in that."
- Aaron Gratton
"From celebrating an FA Cup final to celebrating a win over Peterborough Utd. That's the Gold/Sullivan effect. And you all fell for it. David Gold celebrating a win at Posh in front of the fans? Those Hammers knights of the realm must be so proud of how far WHU have come."
- Adrian Durham (Talksport)
"We paid the price for not scoring when we were having the better of the game. "If George [Boyd] had taken that chance right on the stroke of half-time, I feel sure we would have gone on to win. We should have had a penalty just before that and I feel sure it would have been given had it happened in the other area, but the really disappointing thing was the way in which we reacted to going behind. Too many players went into their shells and you can't afford to do that against any team, let alone one aiming to return to the Premier League."
- Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson
