Won 2-0 to confirm play off position.

Proper funny day as well, went on the club mini bus with the chairman, club committee and another fan. 11 of us = non stop banter.

Last night was the play off semi final where we travelled to Wealdstone. We played them away before the last bank holiday and after going down to ten men early on we played them off the pitch and took the lead only to lose 2-1 with 2 goals in the last few minutes. It kicked off a little bit at the end so there was a bit of rivalry last night. They kicked down hill first half last night, the opposite of the league game and we rode the storm as it was really all them first half. They took the lead going uphill second half and it looked like our season was over until we scrambled an equaliser in the 88th minute to force extra time. One of our main strikers had been ill all week and only just made the bench after being ill on the way to the game as well came off the bench to score the winner in the 108th minute. Away to Lowestoft Monday now for a chance to play in the Blue Square South next season. Going to watch the hammers Saturday as well.

Got to mention King Lynn Town again. They won the Northern league Div 1 title on Tuesday with a 2-1 home win. They were 17 points behind Coalville Town at one stage of the season and finished up four points ahead of them. 1,958 fans at the Walks on Tuesday night, and an average attendance of around 650, amazing support for a step 4 club. Northern Premier League next year,one league below the conference North where they were when it went tits up for them five years ago.

Its all going tits up for a few lower league clubs now

Truro also in deep financial mire
and Ebbsfleet also looking in trouble

Cracking attendance that Motty, we average about 150 I think there was over 1000 at Wealdstone last night and will be the same at Lowestoft Monday. We are a small club with an unbelievable squad.

Basingstoke just lost our 2 best players to full time clubs

we have a couple of players that I don't think will be with us next season. One a former hammer with league experience who was with us to regain fitness and the other had been playing in Scotland with Inverness.

At least we have only had one team drop from the conf prem in to the South, the north section got 3

I was having a look through some of the teams earlier there's a few in there that you wouldn't want to play midweek.

Loving the involvement you get at non-league level , ive helped mark the pitch out and tidy up around the ground so far this pre-season.

Ive also seen a 6-1 win over a Stevenage XI, a 4-0 Win over Local Rivals Canvey and a 3-0 win over St Albans in the last week.

Looking forward to watching us play a Southend XI tomorrow and then a tough one against Dartford next week.

Cant wait for the season to start.
