West Ham captain Kevin Nolan has travelled with the squad on their pre-season tour to Germany despite fears he had suffered a serious foot injury.
Nolan was forced to leave the action after just five minutes during the 2-1 win over Colchester last Saturday following a challenge with former Hammer Freddie Sears and needed lengthy treatment on the sidelines.
The club confirmed that he had picked up a toe injury and there were fears that the former Newcastle midfielder could miss the start of the new season.
But Nolan was able to join up with the rest of the first-team squad as they flew out to Germany for a three game tour this week.
The medical staff are still keeping a close eye on his fitness and will make another assessment later this week.
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce will be boosted by the fact that Nolan was able to take his place on the plane and is hopeful he will make a speedy recovery.
