The Potters are reported to have made an opening bid of £3million, plus
    various add-ons, for the 27-year-old England international.Allardyce
accepts the Hammers have to look at balancing the books after their
relegation from the Barclays Premier League last season but stressed
players would not be allowed to leave cheaply."I believe at this stage
that the offer is not good enough. It is not to the club's valuation,"
the West Ham boss told The Sentinel."We are keen to keep our key
players. However, we have lost our Premier League status and our
financial position has to be addressed."A part of that might be players
are sold back to the Premier League, but only so long as that is right
    for our club."

Based on what I know (have heard) if he has a straight choice he will stay in London. Let's hope that QPR's supposed bid of £6m is true

Queens Park Rangers to make move for Carlton Cole• Hammers would want £6m for striker
    • DJ Campbell may replace Cole at Upton Park

Carlton Cole may be staying in the Premier League. Queens Park Rangers have inquired about Carlton Cole, with the newly promoted Premier League club set to make an offer for the West Ham United striker.

West Ham would listen to a bid of around £6m plus add-ons, or even consider a further payment should Neil Warnock's stoke after Cole 3725042725 side avoid relegation next season.

Cole, 27, has two years remaining on his contract at Upton Park and has already attracted the interest of Stoke City, who recently had a £3m offer rejected by the Hammers. Tony Pulis has yet to return with an improved bid.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] have beaten [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to win the £6 million race for [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] striker [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], Goal.com can reveal.

    The
England international is due in Stoke on Friday to discuss personal
terms after the Potters doubled their initial £3m bid plus add-ons,
which had been swiftly rejected by the Hammers.

    The £6m offer
matches the bid lodged by QPR boss Neil Warnock, who had hoped to
convince Cole to move across London to Loftus Road.

    But Cole has
rejected the chance to stay in London and will join Stoke, who turned
their attentions to the 27-year-old after failing to agree personal
terms with Birmingham forward Cameron Jerome.

    West Ham opted to
cash in on Cole following their relegation to the Championship as new
manager Sam Allardyce looks to cut the wage bill and balance the books.

    Fellow
England internationals Rob Green and Scott Parker have also been linked
with summer moves away from Upton Park but Allardyce has warned he will
not let his best players leave on the cheap.

    Cole scored just
five Premier League goals last season but netted a total of 42 times in
165 appearances for West Ham after signing from Chelsea in 2006.

West Ham striker set to sign for Stoke
Published 23:02 08/07/11 By Mirror Football

Tony Pulis stoke after Cole 3725042725 is set to make Carlton Cole stoke after Cole 3725042725 his first signing of the summer in a £4.5million deal.

Stoke boss Pulis has agreed a fee with relegated West Ham for striker Cole that could see the Potters eventually pay £6m.

Cole has been a Stoke target ever since their promotion to the Premier League and is expected to have a stringent medical over the weekend before signing a four-year deal.

West Ham rejected a £3m offer last week but have accepted an improved bid and Cole will become the second high-profile departure since dropping out of the Premier League.

Stoke will pay an initial £4.5m and then a further £1.5m on appearances for the 27-year-old England international.

Pulis and his squad flew out to Austria for a pre-season training camp yesterday and hope Cole can join them in the next 48 hours.

Goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen believes Cole, who he knows from a loan spell at former club Aston Villa, will prove a shrewd piece of business.

He said: “He is a much improved player. He was fairly young when I played with him at Villa. He was a little bit indisciplined and needed a lot of wank. But he has definitely improved.

“The role he has had at West Ham has given him a lot of responsibility and you can see he has grown.

“He has been involved with the England team and, whenever we have played him, he has been a handful with his physical presence.

“He has also capped every season with quite a few goals. If he came to Stoke, I think he would be a great signing for us.”

Pulis will step up his bid to land Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson and Birmingham pair Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome next week.

I remember the season we went down last time and Joe Cole ( not on his own ) was over here in a pre season friendly playing against Djurgården , automatically thought he,d stay , then read in the paper the next day he,d gone , well gutted . As JDLK pointed out early any player staying or going has to be match fit for the season start Motty
