Read your own reply you stated Brixton, never mentioned Broadwater Farm. Yes on that occasion a person did die after beinga rrested by police. And the 'communities' respeonse was to cut the head of a police officer finguck animals

Re: Riots in Britain
The Brixton riots were in 1981/2/3, Broadwater Farm was in 1985 and yes you certainly did touch a raw nerve, having been injured trying to protect the population of London in every one of those riots started by the 'community'.

Can i just say in my defence that that was written after a rather busy long shift at w**k. My mind weasnt fully on the matter.
I am sorry that you received injuries in the riots. But your reply was slightly harsh. being a new member on here and not knowing my way around these kind of things i suppose i expected slightly better treatment i expected better from fellow west ham supporters.

Re: Riots in Britain
One thing I have noticed in the last few days is law abiding citizens are looking more empowered rather than frightened. Twice on my way home from w**k I’ve seen women telling teenage lads to take down their hoodies or ‘locals will think they are
rioters and will deal with then accordingly’ (and these were clearly not their mums, in one case two women had crossed the road to confront a group of lads). Last night when I was putting the bins out my neighbour from across the road was telling two lads who had wondered into our little cul-de-sac and who she clearly did not like the look of, to ‘do one’ before she ‘took the law into her
own hands’. In all of these cases the teenagers did as they were told.

Re: Riots in Britain
reminds me of when i was in Italy, some young lads were kicking a ball against a wall, old girl comes out and tells them to get out of it, the lads hung thier heads and shuffled off, i thought at the time that had it been in the UK the lads would have mouthed off probably caused the old girl a load of grief.

Re: Riots in Britain
Because of the extra policing in the borough where I w**k, Hammersmith & Fulham, and the public being extra vigilant, 3 burglars in 3 separate incidents were spotted by the public, the police were there in minutes, and they were caught red-handed
The 2 things that have stuck with me over the last few days are the dignity of the father whose son was knocked down and killed in Birmingham telling people who were shouting and cursing to grow up and go home
And the woman who stood her ground to protect her hair salon when 200/300 youths were rampaging down the street. She shouted and swore at them and they skulked off telling her not to swear at them

Re: Riots in Britain
Just back from my UK hols. Interesting last week in Enfield, although
to be fair it was mostly isolated to the town centre. A friend did have
loads of Tottenham & Edmonton 'erberts running down his residential
street on sunday evening as they got off the trains at Bush Hill Park
to avoid the police at Enfield Town station. My kids weren't too
stressed by it all thanks to the black humour with which most of my
mates dealt with the situation although I think the burning buildings on
the A10 slightly unsettled them. My son was very pissed off to miss the
Aldershot cup tie but probably for the best.
Took an afternoon stroll through the town & a beer on tuesday with some of my bigger
mates. The police looked almost pleased to see us & the 'erberts
kept their distance. Was at a barby on wednesday night & most of my
mates were showing our age. Some interesting solutions to the problem.
Gotta go - have to try & connect up my new tv

Glad you got it back in one piece JK
And glad you didn't have too bad an experience of the lunacy.
