West Ham United are reportedly close to bringing back Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole.

The Hammers appear to have pipped QPR to the signing of the England international.

Cole has 18 months left on his contract at Anfield but, after failing to make an impact there, could be set for a return to Upton Park.

West Ham are poised to make their first signing in the January transfer window with teenage sensation Rinor Nushi set to arrive at the club.

The Hammers are in pole position to sign the 16-year-old after he spent time at the Boleyn Ground.

However, he is also attracting interest from a number of high-profile clubs including Arsenal and Juventus.

Nushi is a pacey forward who currently plies his trade in his native Sweden for Stockholm-based club AFC United.

The club's sporting director Hamid Kavodvand has admitted that he expects the player from Albanian descent to make a move overseas in this window.

He told skysports.com: "Rinor is attracting a lot of interest and it is unlikely that we will be able to keep him here.

"At the moment he prefers West Ham after enjoying his time there, but no deal has been agreed at this stage."

West Ham United have signed Waterford United striker Sean Maguire.

The teenage forward has been tracked by a number of clubs but has decided to join the Hammers.

Maguire announced his move on Twitter saying: "Delighted to say I signed with West Ham United, over tomoro! Looking forward to it!"

AFC United striker Rinor Nushi is reportedly close to joining Premier League club West Ham United.

The 16-year-old, who is regarded as one of the best young talents in Sweden, has reportedly attracted the interest of both Arsenal and Juventus.

However, AFC United's sporting director Jamid Kavodvand told Sky Sports News: "Rinor is attracting a lot of interest and it is unlikely that we will be able to keep him here.

"At the moment he prefers West Ham after enjoying his time there, but no deal has been agreed at this stage."

Nushi is understood to have spent a trial period with the Hammers earlier this season
