Wouldn't impact on the Chamakh loan as it would be 1 out 2 in, a deal the Daves would sanction.

I have seen the Remy one too
really cant see him wanting to come to us
another one out there that we have no chance is Harnik

    LOIC REMY (25, striker) Marseille

This versatile and quick striker has had a tough 2012 with form and fitness. Interested parties should be able to seal a deal for around £10m.

Newcastle and QPR look to be the frontrunners.

Jan silly season 2013 - Page 7 Empty Marouane Chamakh

    Marouane Chamakh..........

Sam Allardyce admits West Ham are interested in signing Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh – but claims he’s unsure whether a deal can be done.

The Gunners hitman has been out of favour at the Emirates and looks set for a loan deal away from the north London club in the January transfer window.

And, speaking to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show, the Hammers chief insists he does want the former Bordeaux man – but only if it makes financial sense.

He produced some wonderful goals and performances, there’s something in there but whether we can do something financially I don’t know

“We’re still looking [for new players], We have made an enquiry (for Chamakh),” he said. “If there’s a deal to be done then we’ll have a look at it.

“I cast my mind back to what Chamakh did with Bordeaux where he won the Ligue 1 title and helped them into the Champions League.

“He produced some wonderful goals and performances, there’s something in there but whether we can do something financially I don’t know.”

He added: "The situation I have with [Andy] Carroll being injured and [Modibo] Maiga away at the African Cup of Nations means I only have Carlton Cole available." jawdrop

Sam Allardyce has admitted he is interested in Martin Olsson and Marouane Chamakh after completing the signing of Joe Cole.

The West Ham boss said: "If they have made Martin available I would definitely be interested because I worked with the lad at Blackburn when I was there for two years.

"I had a really good time developing him into what I consider to be quite a good player.

"But whether Blackburn are wanting to sell anybody in their plight to get back into the Premier League I don't know.

"We'll need to find a left back as quick as we can. Joey O'Brien has a tight hamstring and George McCartney is out for a number of weeks. So our left back area is a little weak at the moment."

this moment as a striker we have Carlton Cole and that's it."

very strange to tweet that i think!!!!

reports that Anelka is also in talks, if Anelka comes in that must mean the end of Carroll unless the tree is being sent for timber!

Sam wants to recapture the Chamakh of old.

I dont think he will start, I think he'll be on the bench as a replacement for Cole or Carroll.

If he comes on as a sub and gets a chance who knows what will happen, Cole and Carroll havent scored many so what have we got to lose ?

I think the Joe Cole signing has made this one a but more easier to take for me.

We need other options, this give us them.

    From Sky Sports online...

Blackburn defender Martin Olsson is wanted by West Ham, his agent claims
    Last Updated: January 4, 2013 3:26pm

Martin Olsson's agent has claimed that West Ham are one of a number of clubs looking to land the Blackburn defender.

The Sweden international was tipped to leave Ewood Park in the summer following Blackburn's relegation from the Premier League, but a deal never materialised.

Now the 24-year-old is being targeted again with West Ham said to be showing particular interest.

"There is a great interest in Martin and West Ham are one of the clubs that we have contact with," Olsson's agent Hasan Cetinkaya told Expressen.

Sam Allardyce was linked over the summer, and he knows Olsson well from his time in charge at Blackburn.

"West Ham are a great club, but it's like I said other foreign clubs are involved," Cetinkaya continued.

    From JC
Cole also had the chance to join the R’s this month, but while he admits he owes a lot to Redknapp, he says he couldn’t resist the opportunity to go back to where it all began.

He said: “That was the hardest thing for me, because Harry gave me my first chance and I will be forever indebted to him, but there was too much here at West Ham for me to say no.

“The only hard thing was turning down Harry because I love him and I would not be the player I was if it wasn’t for him.”

    West Ham

What they need in a nutshell: A striker and a tricky right-sided player.

Window shopping: Sam Allardyce has been quite vociferous about his need to bring in players and one of them will definitely be a striker. Andy Carroll just has not played much at all because of injury and, while Carlton Cole is a serious handful on his day, he is not consistent enough.

Marouane Chamakh and Nicolas Anelka are some of the names mentioned as potential targets. In the past, Allardyce has been quite creative in terms of the players he has managed to sign, so it will be interesting to see who he brings in.

I also think he might look for a player similar to Matt Jarvis who can play on the right and deliver crosses from that flank too.

Linked with: Jack Butland 19, GK (Birmingham) Miralem Sulejmani 23, FW (Ajax) Salomon Kalou 27, FW (Lille) Marouane Chamakh 28, CF (Arsenal) Nicolas Anelka 33, CF (Shanghai Shenhua) Loic Remy 25, CF (Marseille)

West Ham are set to sign Brazillian striker Wellington Paulista on loan for the remainder fo the season, according to reports.

The 29-year-old Cruzeiro striker is said to be on his way to London to join the Hammers for the remainder of the 2012/13 campaign according to Cruzeiro director of football Alexandre Mattos.

"Cruzeiro would like to thank Wellington a lot, he is a great professional," said Mattos. "He always honoured and liked Cruzeiro a lot, as Cruzeiro liked him also. The clubs doors are always open for him."

Paulista has been with Cruzeiro since 2009, having moved to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A side from Botafogo where he was something of a cult hero amongst fans.

Cruzeiro striker Wellington Paulista ready for loan move to West Ham

Cruzeiro striker Wellington Paulista has confirmed he is on his way to West Ham United and is determined to make a success of his move to the Premier League.

Paulista is due to arrive in England on Sunday to undergo a medical ahead of finalising a loan move to Upton Park, with the option of a permanent arrangement.

He will not require a work permit as he holds an EU passport and the Brazilian is looking forward to the next chapter in his career.

"I have had two successful spells at Cruzeiro," Paulista told Lancenet. "I thank the fans for their kindness during the time I was honouring the blue shirt.

"I am sure I am leaving via the front door and I hope I can return in the future.

"The transfer was good for everyone involved, now I'll work hard to succeed in this new stage of my career."

Cruzeiro's director of football Alexandre Mattos wished Paulista well for the future and paid tribute to the 28-year-old's time at the club

Mattos told Terra: "Cruzeiro thanks Wellington, who is a great professional. He has always honoured and liked Cruzeiro, just like Cruzeiro likes him. He leaves with the club's doors open."
