Sam Allardyce has played down reports linking West Ham with Cruzeiro forward Wellington Paulista.

The Brazilian side claim the player is set to join the Hammers on a loan deal, which would further bolster Allardyce's attacking options following the move for Marouane Chamakh on a six-month contract from Arsenal.
Allardyce said: "We are searching for players, but at this time of year an agent will ring me up, or he will contact the chairman and the next minute they ring the papers and say we are going to buy someone.
"That happens throughout the window so until we have got one having a medical or nearly clinched then we will be linked with another 150 players between now and January 31."

This Brazilian and his agent appears to the ones making all the noise, could be he is just trying to get a move and we are not interested

West Ham have made a £3million bid for Blackburn’s Martin Olsson.

Sam Allardyce has admitted he wants to sign a new left-back in the January transfer window, and reports have linked him with Aston Villa’s Stephen Warnock.

But Swedish international Olsson is the man Allardyce really wants to fill his problem position, and the Hammers have now made an official approach.

Olsson joined Blackburn in 2007 and has made more than 100 senior appearances for the club. He has also won 14 caps for Sweden.

I have seen that Olsson is as little as £1M, that is a steal if true

The Swede still has two-and-a-half years left on his contract but has made no secret of his desire to go since handing in a transfer request after Blackburn were relegated last season.
West Ham also want Wigan left-back Maynor Figueroa, 29, but may be forced to wait until the summer.

Goalkeeper Paul Robinson is expected to be the next Blackburn player to demand to leave Ewood Park.

I do. He is at a joke of a club but is still a top keeper. Younger than Jussi, more commanding with an excellent kicking game too. Yes please
