So we have signed a League 1 player on loan who has been relegated 3 times in a row to help us stay up , I really don't understand Sam thinking into signing players like Johnson , I know we may not have got him but why didn't we try and go for Lescott !?

I really think we are going to get relegated and what`s worst is if we do , we will have a player on 100,000 a week playing for us in the championship well I say playing for us he most likely will be injured as no one is going to buy Carroll of us with his injury record  January Silly Season 2014 - Page 5 2723394577

As some people have pointed out, roger isn't being bought in to our haul our defence, merely cover it for a few weeks till Reid, Ginge and Tompkins fit. It would have been hard and expensive to recruit a top class 4th choice defender. So whoever was going tot come in was never going to be mustard. Hopefully Reid and tomkins back soon, and roger is on the bench as cover and all will be alright with the world again

Then why not sign him on just a month's loan and save the extra three months of wages?

    • Because Wolves wanted him off their wage bill.
    • He is also on a "pay when you play" deal. So if we don't play him we don't pay Wolves

Win win - for us !

This Traore bloke is supposed to be pretty good...A few people at work are commenting on how good he is on the ground with the ball at his feet but in the games they have seen him his heading is shite like Crouch......Saying that 6' 8 has to give the defence a bit of a challenge......

West Ham are believed to have applied for a work permit for Ivory Coast striker Lacina Traore and should find out if one will be granted next Monday.

The 23-year-old completed a move from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala to Monaco this week but looks set to join the Irons on loan until the end of the campaign.

The 6'8" striker has been a regular for his country recently but still hasn't played the required number of internationals to automatically receive a work permit.

8 goals in 33 appearances for Parma last season. No goals at Inter Milan this season

Not sure Carroll is the answer for goals as his record is not that great. What he will give us is what the presence he gave us last season which allowed others around him to benefit from all the attention he got from defenders
