Re: January Silly Season 2014
I have major concerns that Carroll will suffer niggles upon returning. A hamstring strain, a calf pull etc. I have no doubt that he will improve our chances 100% but I fear he will not play regularly enough between now and May.

Re: January Silly Season 2014
It been confirmed that Traore has the work permit hearing on Monday, but the owners say its only a 50/50 chance of it being granted
so by the 13th we still may not have a good back up to Carroll, we still do not seem to learn mistakes from past transfer windows

Still waiting.
Other clubs seem to be able to do this type of work a lot quicker than us.
Question for you all: How long is a piece of string?

Re: January Silly Season 2014
Fulham manager just confirmed on BT Sport that they had a bid for Ravel Morrison turned down. It sounded more like Ravel turned them down than the club TBH
From London24
Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen has confirmed that the Whites have had a bid for West Ham forward Ravel Morrison rejected and believes the player wants to make the move.
The former Manchester United man moved to east London two years ago and has started to shine in the Premier League this season.
Fulham will weigh up whether to make another bid for Morrsion, with West Ham believed to want £10million for the player and are unwilling to sell him to a relegation rival.
“Yes we did [put in a bid for Morrison] but we got knocked back,” Meulensteen said.
“We need to review it and move on. I’ll leave it with Alistair Mackintosh. I’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
When asked if the player wants to come Meulensteen replied saying: “Yes.”
When pushed on what that is the case the Whites boss replied: “Because I’ve known Ravel for a long long time.
“The thing is we have to wait and see how the clubs and everything goes. We’ll see what we get.”
Meulensteen believes that he will provide a new dimension for Fulham.
“Youthfulness, energy, unpredictability, attacking strength, loads of things,” he said.
“The fee is not for me to discuss. I’ll leave that to Alistair Mackintosh. I’ve made my desires clear and will leave them to it.
“We’ll review it because I don’t know the ins and outs how it has been rejected.”
The Whites boss is hoping that Morrison will be the only addition to the club’s ranks.
“It is very difficult in the January transfer window because of a lot of clubs are in the same situation,” he explained.
“You can’t do your business early because clubs in a similar situation won’t do business early because the higher the price will go.
“You’ll see things happening in the last week of the transfer window.

19 goals in 81 matches puts him on par with carlton
Have to agree with Charlie, our signing policy is utter crap, how comes it takes us 4 times as long to seal a deal as other clubs

Fulham have bid for morrison, could just be a crowd pleaser, as i dont think they could get close to affording him, If a £10M bid comes in then its rumoured that we will go to £60K a week, cant see Fulham going to that

.
how does he know that Ravel wants a move, has he spoken to the player before a bid has been accepted? If so that is tapping up a player

West Ham United to complain to Premier League over Fulham's move for Ravel Morrison
West Ham United will reportedly complain to the Premier League over an alleged tapping up of midfielder Ravel Morrison by Fulham.
Fulham head coach Rene Meuelensteen said yesterday that Morrison was keen on joining them and this will form the basis of the Hammers' complaint.
West Ham have already turned down a reported £4m offer from Fulham but the Premier League side are expected to return with another offer.

Question for you all: How long is a piece of string?
Answer : Twice the length from the middle to the end
Nice one Stooby.
Below is the BS answer. Now keep up.
Although it may seem initially unanswerable, there are some facts which help to solve the question. For a start, a piece of string can't really be less than a quarter of an inch or it's not "a piece of string" but more of a small sample from some string. Similarly, any string longer than about 100ft isn't usually classed as "a piece" of string, as it's more obviously a reel of string. In fact, for any string to be A PIECE of string, it tends to be a typical length. Pieces of string are typically in their second or subsequent use, and have previously been used in some application such as wrapping up a parcel or tying two things together. As a result, the typical piece of string is in the range of 1ft to 8ft, and if you were going to place a [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] spread-bet of some type, you'd be best to go for a string length of about 3ft 6in or thereabouts.
In a more mathematically factual answer, I'd say that the length of a piece of string has a spread distribution of probability of a continuous function with a graph... well I could imagine the type of thing, with string length along the X axis and likeliness along the Y axis, and a curve which starts low and builds up and then levels off gradually. If someone was so inclined they could put out a request for pieces of string and then measure them and plot the results, which would give a graph somewhat similar to the type of thing I can guess.
It's not easy to express such an answer to the question "how long is a piece of string" as a direct word-based answer, but a good approximation would be: "the length of a piece of string is usually about 4ft +/- 3ft".
Of course it's not a perfect answer, and the distribution would have a characteristic which is spread differentially either side of the most likely length. This type of thing is not as uncommon as you might think, for example electronic components are specified as their nominal value +/- 10% or 20%, and colloquial terms such as "faster than a speeding bullet" have an element of expressiveness which often convey more than the statistical figure.

I'm surprised Fat Sham hasn't sent any one out to Kenya to scout the Masi Mara.
With there elongated necks and high jumping moves even Jarvis might be able to supply them and they would be perfect Allardyce type strikers and perfect signings for his style of play !!!!
